Celebration, 100th Birthday of Dr. Ruth Patrick, November 17, 2007

This Saturday, the Academy, its partners and guests will honor Dr. Ruth Patrick, Philadelphia’s ‘Den Mother of Ecology.’ Dr. Patrick is a living legend whose work has had a national impact on the clean water movement. She has pioneered research advancements in the field of freshwater ecology for more than 70 years. Among her many awards, she has earned America’s highest decoration for scientific achievement, the National Medal of Science. She continues to come to work five days a week at The Academy of Natural Sciences.
