Bug Fest

Sunday Aug 12 10:00 AM-5:00 PM

From caterpillars to majestic winged adults, butterflies from around the world are the stars of the Academy’s 5th Annual Bug Fest on August 11 and 12.

Find out how to classify butterflies and moths. Get the facts on clever camouflage and have fun at moth bingo. View a large and colorful birdwing butterfly species—never before seen at the Academy! In addition to butterflies, you can see and touch more than 50 other live bugs from the Academy’s insect collection, eat creepy-crawly cuisine, go on a bug walk, cheer on your favorite roach at the Roach Race 500, and even meet a real entomologist!
