Activities and programs appropriate for children and their families or adults are listed below. You may also wish to check out our calendar of events and our exhibits.
For Children and Families
- Auditorium Shows
- Naturalist shows with live animals are presented in the auditorium every day.
- Birthday Parties
- The Academy offers special packages for your birthday party.
- Safari Overnights
- Sleepovers in the museum. Sleep with the dinosaurs, lions, tigers and bears. Oh my!
- Scouting
- Day workshops and Scout-only Safari Overnights for badges, pins and try-its are available for Brownies, Webelos, Junior Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
- Summer Explorers Camp
- Weekly day camps held in July and August for children ages 6–12.
- Tiny Tot Explorers & Eco Explorers
- Nature activities appropriate for children ages 3 & 4, 5 & 6, and an adult (during July and August).
- Wild Weekends
- The Academy host a variety of special programs on weekends that feature everything from fossils to butterflies to shells. These programs typically have live animal shows, special presentations and children's crafts.

- Clubs and Societies
- Check out these local clubs and societies if you're into birds, foreign travel, fossils, insects, plants or shells.
- Facility Rentals
- Use the museum as a memorable venue for your corporate or organization event, wedding or other special occasion.
- Town Square
- Town Square is a series of lectures, debates, workshops and forums on issues in science, sustainability and the environment.
