Past Overnights
Enjoy interactive activities and meet some of our live animals —all with the guidance of the Academy's experienced naturalists! Break to socialize and enjoy refreshments and snacks. Sleep next to lions, tigers or Tyrannosaurus rex. Awake to a light breakfast and more exploration. Each child receives a participation patch. (see Details below.)

Are there any dinosaurs alive today? See modern day relatives of ancient creatures at the Live Animal show, unearth fossils at the Big Dig, visit our Fossil Prep Lab and explore Dinosaur Hall.

Behind-the-Scene Tours are optional additions to selected Safari Overnights. These tours take you deep within the Academy collections to examine specimens of birds, insects, plants, fish, fossils, shells and more. There is an additional fee of $3 per person for those who sign up. (See Behind-the-Scenes Tours for more information.)

Experience the wild side of Pennsylvania Ballet and the Academy of Natural Sciences with this overnight package! First, see a rousing performance of Carnival of the Animals at the Academy of Music. After the performance, spend an activity-filled evening at the Academy of Natural Sciences, just as Oliver does in the ballet, and sleep next to a Tyrannosaurus rex!
Prices start at $92.20 per person. Overnight Package includes ballet ticket, roundtrip trolley transportation between the theater and the museum, a pizza buffet dinner, educational museum activities and a continental breakfast on Sunday.

Ages: Safari Overnights are appropriate for children ages 7-14. One adult is required per 3 children. No outside food or drink is permitted and extra large sleeping mattresses are discouraged.
