The Academy of Natural Sciences is pleased to introduce the new webpage of the Center for Environmental Policy.

At the end of 2008, with the generous  assistance of the William Penn Foudation, The Academy initiated the Center as a non-partisan, knowledge-based unit that focuses on building public awareness and on accessing, networking and guiding a variety of environmental stakeholders. About RecycleNOW Philadelphia

Posted on September 10, 2008

RecycleNOW Philadelphia is a project of the Recycling Alliance of Philadelphia.  This coalition of organizations and individuals advocates for “public policy and direct action to result in more recycling by more people, waste reduction, and a movement towards zero waste.”

RecycleNOW Philadelphia is focused on bringing commercial buildings and apartments in to compliance and enforcing the commercial recycling regulations. The City of Philadelphia’s commercial recycling regulations require that all commercial buildings in all parts of the city—including businesses, apartment buildings or more than six units, and schools—provide recycling for their employees and/or tenants.

If you are interested in becoming a recycling advocate for your apartment building or workplace,  visit www.recyclenowphilly.org

RecycleNOW has held two meetings at The Academy of Natural Sciences, hosted by the Center for Environmental Policy, and the Center will be continuing to support  RecycleNOW and efforts to promote recycling in Philadelphia.
