    Celebrate dinosaurs and their closest living relatives—birds –with  a holiday weekend of family fun at the Academy of Natural Sciences. Explore the world of the dinosaurs as your examine real fossils up close, meet live birds, and talk with dinosaur experts. Fun games and crafts are guaranteed to enlighten everyone from the wisest to the youngest dinosaur experts in your family. Free with museum admission.

    Meet our new North American porcupine, Barton, for a special story time and meet-and-greet. As we introduce you to our prickly yet affectionate new critter, education staff (assisted by Marty the Moose, our puppet storyteller), will share a children’s book: A Porcupine Named Fluffy.

    Watch a live demonstration of how chocolate was made during Colonial times. Created by Mars, American Heritage Chocolate only uses ingredients that were available during the 18th century to ensure the authenticity of the chocolate’s exotic flavors and spices! Taste it yourself and see if you can identify all of the ingredients.
