Family Field Trips and Workshops

The Academy invites you and your family to share in one or more of these fun and educational field trips and workshops that are held on selected weekends throughout the year. They are designed for children ages 7 and up.

  • Pre-K Discovery Day

    Little scientists will have the biggest fun at the Academy’s first Pre-K Discovery Day! Visit the third level of the museum for exploration perfectly suited for scientists ages 3–5: ·
  • Story Time: Meet our New Hedgehogs

    Thursday Apr 24 2:00 PM-3:00 PM

    Join two ridiculously cute hedgehogs (and a few Academy educators) for a special meet-and-greet. As we introduce you to our brand-new hedgehogs, education staff (assisted by Marty the Moose, our puppet storyteller), will share a children’s book about hedgehogs. You can also watch as our hedgies help themselves to a mid-afternoon feast.
  • The Mother of All Baby Showers

    Friday May 16 6:30 PM-9:30 PM

    Hosted at the Academy of Natural Sciences and featuring Bravo's Rosie Pope, this adults-only, one-of-a-kind night out for new and expectant parents offers the opportunity to check out top-notch baby products and services all in one place before you purchase.
  • Access to Science: Opening Doors to Autism

    Sunday Jun 8 9:00 AM-11:00 AM

    Children on the autism spectrum and their families are invited to experience the Academy and its new exhibit, Birds of Paradise before the crowds.
