Young museum visitors look as specimens during a bicentennial event

On selected weekends and holidays during the year, families can create crafts, engage in special interactive activities, examine museum specimens, meet live animals, and see special presentations. Free with museum admission.

  • Philadelphia Science Festival Science Carnival at Penn's Landing

    Staff from the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University will be showing off some super cool specimens at Penn’s Landing during this year’s Science Carnival. We’re joining 100 other exhibitors for this free carnival, which includes family-friendly experiments, activities, games, and a packed lineup of live entertainment.

  • Voting With the Ballot Box Turtle

    Let the box turtle’s “voice” be heard! At a very special story time, celebrate our role in the political process by watching the Ballot Box Turtle “vote” for its favorite fruits and veggies. During an interactive presentation, help bring the box turtle out of its shell by educating yourself on the turtle’s most important issues.
