The Private Life of Trillium
A lecture by John Gyer at Henry House

October 11, 2007

John Gyer, Fern Hill Farm, New Jersey, has closely observed and recorded Trillium growth for nearly two decades. His uniquely detailed presentation features his own very precise photographs that draw you right into the forest floor.

No trillium seed in Hohn's garden has privacy. He snoops at it during pollination, germination and its 7-year growth into a mature plant. He photographs the process to share with us the activity hidden under a blanket of soil.

Refreshments at 5 p.m.; lecture at 6 p.m.; buffet to follow.

Cost: Members of the Henry Foundation and guests, $25; non-members $35.

Location: Henry Botanic Garden, 801 Stony Lane (off Henry Lane), Gladwyn, PA.

Information: (610) 525-2037.
