RSC AGM, New York, NY, November 21st 2009

        In addition to participating in the business meeting section members enjoyed Dr. Dan Murray of the University of Rhode Island discussing the topic: “Geologic Time & Geochemistry: Fundamental To Understanding Earth History”.

“Bench to Pilot Plant: Symposium, Cambridge, MA, October 23rd 2009

        RSC US co-sponsored this meeting which attracted 250 attendees from all over the Northeast.

RSC US event at the ACS Northeastern Regional Meeting, Hartford, CT, October 9th 2009

        RSC US co-sponsored this meeting and a small number of RSC members attended the Award Banquet.

RSC Garden Party, Madison, CT, September 12th 2009

        The Garden Party was once again a highlight of the year’s program.

        A large and enthusiastic crowd heard about Green Solutions to some of our planets biggest challenges.  Dr. Robert Peoples, Director of the American Chemistry Society’s Green Chemistry Institute, discussed “Big Challenges, Big Green Chemistry Solutions”.

         300 Chemists from the New England area came together to hear 6 outstanding talks, see a large vendor exhibition and enjoy a generous reception and networking and socializing opportunity.

         The RSC again hosted a popular reception at the ACS National Meeting.

         RSC members enjoyed at outstanding dinner and cruise at the end of the ACS Northeastern Regional Meeting (NERM).  Several RSC USA members also enjoyed the many talks, posters and social events that took place during NERM.

         RSC members enjoyed at outstanding reception, dinner and talk by Prof. Yorke Rhodes at Queensbourgh Community College during MARM.  Several RSC USA members also enjoyed a tour of thr Queens Botanical gardens earlier in the day.

Following an afternoon cruise on a schooner, the spring me was held at the Royal Plaza Hotel.
Speakers were Dr. Paul and Brenda Cohen. 

AGM 2001 Princeton Club New York

The 2001 Annual General Meeting in was held in New York on November 10th and featured a talk by Dr. Attila Pavlath, President of the American Chemical Society, on the thought-provoking topic "The worldwide public image of Chemistry".

Spring 2001 Meeting at Chadds Ford, PA

The Spring meeting was held in the historic Brandywine Valley on the 19th May. Our after dinner speaker, Dr Dorit Noether, used the topic of "water" to demonstrate the pragmatic importance of music and poetry and the exquisite beauty of science and technology.

AGM 2000, Princeton Club New York

The AGM was again held in the historic and convivial atmosphere of the Princeton Club in New York.

After dinner and a brief discussion of Society business, out guest speaker and member, Dr. Arnold Thackray, president of the Chemical Heritage Foundation , Philadelphia, made a presentation entitled "Treasures of Our Chemical Heritage"

Several members also attended the show “Kiss Me Kate” at the Martin Beck Theatre at 2 pm
