Interlibrary Loan Policies

Books

The Library lends post-1900 material. We do not lend pre-1900 material, rare books, folios, reference works, and in-print ANS and American Entomological Society material. Materials are not loaned overseas.

The library lends books for one month only. A second one-month renewal may be requested.

Periodicals

The Library will provide photocopies of periodical articles up to 50 pages. Copies are made based on the condition of the item. We do not lend periodicals.

Microforms and Theses

The Library does not lend microforms and theses.

Billing Policy

The library charges $20 for book loans, unless we have a formal reciprocal agreement with the borrowing library.

An invoice will be sent with the material; pre-payment is not required. We also accept OCLC's IFM.

Photocopy Costs

The Library charges a base fee of $20 for photocopying an article, which includes the first ten exposures. Each additional exposure costs $0.25. We will fax an article at no extra cost, but the article must not be more than 10 pages. An invoice will be sent with the copy; pre-payment is not required.

The Library reserves the right to refuse to photocopy material if it deems that copying may damage the material.

Lost and Damaged Material

The Library charges $20 plus the cost of a lost item. The Library charges $25 or the cost of repair for a damaged item, whichever is greater.

Reciprocal Agreements

The Library is willing to consider reciprocal agreements with other institutions. Please request our reciprocal agreement form.
