Fresh-Water Rhizopods of North America: Plate 41
This is Plate 41 in "Fresh-Water Rhizopods of North America." All of the figures belong to one species, Actinosphaeium eichhornii. This rhizopod grows its own test ("shell"). The fine rays that extend from the organism are fine pseudopods that are used to trap and draw in food particles.
