Image 4
Image of four specimens of P. caeruleiceps Todd, 1947 held in the collection of the United States National Museum (USNM). Their USNM accession numbers from top to bottom are: 372611, 372619, 372612 and 372614. Note the bluish tone to the base colour of the barred feathers of the underparts and the presence of some blue in the cheeks of some specimens. This illustrates that pantchenkoi falls within the range of variation of caeruleiceps.
