From the year of its founding, the Academy appointed curators for its collections. Later, a board of curators was erected in charge of the museum, and to a lesser extent of the building as a whole.

This lot contains three minute books of the Board of Curators, 1883-92, 1892-1901, and 1902-23. In addition, are two notebooks, one containing bills approved by the curators, 1893-95, the other recording daily work done in the museum by Ives (J.E.?). Annual reports of the curators cover, in part, the years from 1822 to 1883, 22 in all. There are several special reports, and a few letters.
