Pennsylvania bacteriologist and physician. Elected to the Academy in 1892, he kept a diary of his years in Philadelphia in which he entered his impressions of the weekly meetings. In 1941 he prepared this article, “The Academy in 1892-1895”, from his diary notes. His impressions of the members regularly in attendance present fascinating thumbnail sketches of Isaac Wistar, E. J. Nolan, Benjamin Sharp, Woolman, Rothermel, John A. Ryder, Henry C. Chapman, Henry A. Pilsbry, Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Holman, D. G. Brinton, Harrison Allen, Edgar (Sic) D. Cope, Samuel G. Dixon.
