This ship's captain wrote from Canton, China to (1) Adams Express Office, New York, concerning the shipment of an Argus pheasant, duckbilled platypus and two shells to the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia (2) John Cassin, secretary of the Academy about the shipment of a jar containing nutmegs in all stages, and saying he had no answer to the first letter.
