<p>Philadelphia clergyman and apiculturist who revolutionized beekeeping practices by the invention of the movable beehive. A member of the Academy
who collaborated with Joseph Leidy who did the microscopical work on the honey bee. Langstroth is known as &#8220;The Father of American Beekeeping.&#8221; A holograph copy of his article: &#8220;On the impregnation of the eggs of the Queen bee&#8221;, published in the <emph render="italic">Proceedings </emph>of the Academy, v. 6, 1852, p. 49-50.</p>
