A supplementary indexed volume to the minutes for the years covered, with various documents and letters inserted, was compiled for the most part, by the secretary, Edward J. Nolan. Many subjects which were handled by committees for the general membership of the Academy are condensed in the minutes and records kept of the dates and personnel of the committees. A large folder of 42 items, of the committee on lower rates of postage on natural history material sent by mail, under the Charimanship of P. P. Calvert, dates from 1893-97. Nominations to committees, 1868-72 and documents of 17 temporary committees, 1876-1897 complete the series of persons signing letters or documents.
