Reports of the committees appointed to review each paper read before the Academy, receipts of papers for the Proceedings and Journal and acknowledgements of manuscripts received, were all entered in bound ledgers of permanent records. Printed forms were used and numbered for each year beginning with Dec. 1st. The earlier rules called for the appointment of a committee to review and report upon each individual paper, after which the committee was dissolved. A change in the bylaws of May 5, 1903 made it unnecessary to report to the general meeting, a favorable decision automatically giving authority for publication. Loose items dated between 1818-73 complete the collection.
