This collection of documents includes various copies of two distinct items; the first is a record of the activities of the meeting of January 25, 1812 when the group came together to consider the foundation of a society. Of the four copies of these minutes two are signed by the various persons concerned. The second document is a constitution for the new society dated, Philadelphia, March the 17th, 1812. There are three drafts of this constitution only one of which is signed by Camillous M. Mann, Secretary, Thomas Say, J. Gilliams, N. I. Parmantier, G. Troost and John Speakman.
