A volume, once belonging to Schweinitz, later in the library of E. A. Rau, and donated to the Academy of Natural Sciences in 1932, has been heavily annotated in ink, as shown on the autographed title-page. This same calligraphy appears scattered through v. 1 of Barton, W. P. C., Compendium Florae Philadelphicae... 1818.

A second type of handwriting appears in the same volume, showing corrections and additions. This is possibly done by E. A. Rau, although it does not exactly correspond to other samples of Rau's penmanship. In Coll. 137.
