This ornithologist of the American Museum of Natural History corresponded with Witmer Stone about all aspects of bird study. Many of the letters refer to mutual interests in the editorship of ornithological periodicals, to the exchange of information about museum specimens and to personalities responsible for their assemblage. He made extended studies in migration and in bird protection, being especially concerned with the crusade against milliners' wanton destruction for ornamental feathers.
