Library and Archives Digital Collections
The Library and Archives of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University houses many rare, beautiful, and important works on the natural sciences. These works were created and/or published over the last five centuries and document the discovery of plant and animal species by early explorers as they traveled the world. By presenting the digital images from these books and archival materials online, the Library and Archives hopes to share these early works with scientists, scholars, and the public.
Digital image collections from the Academy Library and Archives are now available online at Academy Library and Archives Digital Collections. The collections include images from the remarkable natural history books and archival materials in the holdings of the Academy. These online collections were recently opened and currently include a small portion of the available images from the Academy Library and Archives. New images will be added on a continual basis, so remember to frequently check Academy Library and Archives Digital Collections.
Additionally, the Archives Art Collection Guide contains Finding Aids and images for forty-nine Academy Archive collections.
The images in the Academy Library and Archives Digital Collections were captured and presented online using funds provided by the Albert M. Greenfield Foundation. For more information about the Albert M. Greenfield Digital Imaging Center for Collections, click here.
