You may notice two outdoor sculptures during your visit to the Academy. One of these shows a pair of Deinonychus, a dinosaur whose skeleton is on display in Dinosaur Hall.
The other shows Joseph Leidy, an important American scientist from the 19th Century. He worked at the Academy and studied everything from dinosaurs and extinct horses to parasites and microscopic rhizopods.
