Where is it?

The Academy of Natural Sciences is located at the corner of 19th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It faces Logan Circle. Locate it on Google Maps , Live Search Maps or MapQuest.

Public Transportation

Three SEPTA bus routes run within a block of the Academy. Southbound Routes 32 & 33 use 19th Street. Northbound, Route 32 uses 18th Street, while Northbound Route 33 uses 20th Street. Route 38 uses 20th Street in both directions. In addition, the Westbound Route 48 uses Arch Street, while several Subway-Surface Trolleys and the Market-Frankford Line run under Market Street. Surburban Station is the closest regional rail station.

Phlash Trolleys provide quick and easy connections between the Academy and other Philadelphia attractions and hotels. Service runs from May 1 through October 31.

Bicycling

Five bicycle racks are now in place in front of the Academy. These racks constitute the first installation for the City of Philadelphia's Adopt-a-Rack program, a new program promoted by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.

Driving and Parking

Visitors traveling on US Route 76 should take US Route 676 East and take the first exit onto Winter Street to Logan Circle. (Please note that this exit appears almost immediately after you merge onto US Route 676.) Those traveling west on US Route 676 should exit at 22nd Street and turn right onto the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and proceed to Logan Circle.

One Way streets are indicated on the map by the green arrows.

There is metered street parking and several public parking lots near the Academy. The parking lots are indicated by red numbers on the map:

  1. Logan Square Parking, 1815 Cherry Street (garage): Enter on Cherry or Arch Streets. (Discounts with validated ticket and for Academy members.)
  2. Allright/Central (lot): Enter on Cherry Street.
  3. Central Parking System (lot): Enter on 19th or Arch Streets.
  4. Central Parking System (garage): Enter on 19th Street.
  5. Central Parking System (lot): Enter on 19th or Arch Streets.
  6. Central Parking System (garage): Enter on 19th Street.
